Northland

There are four local authorities in the Northland Region. They are the Northland Regional Council, Far North District Council, Whangarei District Council and Kaipara District Council.

The three district councils provide both rubbish and recyclables collections - visit your local council's website or contact them for more information.

Environmental education

Formerly known as the Far North District Waste Minimisation Campaign, Slash Trash is a three year educational and promotional community project aimed at reducing volumes of solid waste being land filled in the Far North. The project also aims to create new and lasting attitudes towards waste reduction and resource recovery: Operation Slash Trash and Zero Waste
