Environmental education

The Environment Waikato website offers resources for students and teachers. The resources for teachers encompass classroom activities and classroom units. The site also features a schools environmental education newsletter and a monthly "Green Dates" calendar: Waikato Environmental Education Programme for Schools

The Enviroschools Programme is a whole school approach to environmental education which focuses on students planning, designing and implementing environmental projects. It is a partnership between Councils, community groups and schools and is being offered to Councils to support existing environmental education programmes and achieve strategic environmental goals. Initiated by Hamilton City Council, the Enviroschools programme has now been developed nationwide.
